4. The four PRINCIPLES OF GROWTH:
MASCULINITY - learning to recognize and appreciate our eternal roles as sons of God, increasing our gender congruity (identity as masculine), developing connection with other men in a non-sexual way, decreasing gender disruption and increasing our feeling of maleness .
AUTHENTICITY - understanding who you are as a son of God, learning to recognize and deal with our core emotions, overcoming wounds and walls and developing interpersonal authenticity, dealing with shame and guilt, learning to accept ourselves and then recognize what we can do to become whole (or change) through the Savior.
NEED FULFILLMENT - strengthening our testimonies of Christ and the gospel, meeting same-sex affiliation needs in appropriate and uplifting ways, developing camaraderie and connection with other SSA men to support each other.
SURRENDER - developing trust with God and his plan, overcoming sins and addictions, release from our lives things that prevent growth, bring positive influences and situations into our lives that foster healthy growth and relationships with the Savior, identify thoughts and questions that cause suffering and distress and resolve them, identifying and expressing emotion in healthy ways.
